Meribel Mottaret
If skiing is your passion, then before any place, you should start searching for an apartment rental in Meribel-Mottaret. Almost all properties in Meribel Mottarret are within 200 metres of the ski slopes which is very convenient. Furthermore, there you can find pretty much anything you need, ski schools, supermarkets, restaurants, coffee shops, ski hire, night clubs, and so on. Meribel Mottarret sits 1750 meters which makes it the highest resorts in the area.
La Plagne
More than 2.5 million tourists visit La Plagne each year, which makes it one of the most popular ski resorts in the world. Together with the Les Arcs ski resort are part of the Paradiski’s ski area. La Plagne is served by two cable cars and features over 225 km of slopes. There are slopes suitable for absolute beginners, professional skiers, and pretty much anyone in between. Thanks to that, the demand for an apartment rental in La Plagne is always high.
Les Arcs
As we’ve mentioned, together with La Plagne, Les Arcs is part of the Paradiski’s ski area. Les Arcs is split into five areas:
- Bourg-Saint-Maurice
- Arc 1600
- Arc 1800
- Arc 1950
- Arc 2000
Its ski slopes are located on altitudes spanning from 800 to 3220 meters. Aiguille Rouge is the highest peak within this resort where you can find its legendary 7 km long slope. Les Arcs has over 106 runs served by 54 lifts. Thanks to its size, many consider Les Arcs as a mega-resort. The best part of it all is that there is something for everyone, those with a limited budget, as well as those for whom prices don’t matter too much.
Tignes
Tignes, together with Val d’Isère, is part of the Espace Killy ski area. There are five villages in the Tignes area:
- Tignes le Lac
- Tignes Val Claret
- Le Lavachet
- Tignes Les Boisses
- Tignes-Les-Brévières.
Most of the terrain is best suited for advanced skiers, whereas much effort has been put recently to make some terrains more suitable for beginners and intermediate skiers. Accommodation and apartments for rent are available throughout the year in the mentioned villages.
Val-d’Isère
Val-d’Isère is just 5 km of the Italian border in the Tarentaise Valley. World cup skiing competitions are regularly held in Val-d’Isère. Thanks to the Pissaillas Glacier, as well as the assistance of snow cannons, skiers can enjoy summer skiing. The villages in the valley are connected with a free shuttle bus. Plus, Val-d’Isère is well-connected with regular lines leading to and from Chambéry, Geneva, and Lyon. Apartments are not easy to find during peak season. So, early booking is always recommended.
